Profile rail guide
Profile rail guides (also known as linear guides or linear profile rail guides) are high-precision mechanical guide systems used in drive technology and mechanical engineering to enable linear movements with high accuracy, rigidity and load-bearing capacity.
Structure of a profile rail guide:
- Profile rail (often made of hardened steel):
A straight, precision-ground rail with guide profiles.
- Carriage (slide):
This slides on the rail and contains rolling elements (e.g. balls or rollers) that minimize friction.
- Rolling element guide:
The balls or rollers run in closed orbits in the carriage and roll between the rail and carriage.
- Linear guideways are available in different sizes depending on the required load / force absorption
- To ensure that linear guideways can be used in a wide variety of applications, they are available in different accuracy classes but also corrosion-resistant with different coatings or made entirely of stainless steel (Niro), e.g. for the food industry
Fröhlich & Dörken GmbH has profiled rail guides from Schneeberger, NSK, PMI available from stock. We can also supply other manufacturers such as THK, Bosch, INA, SNR, Hiwin, CPC.
