Plain bearing

Alongside rolling bearings, plain bearings are one of the most frequently used bearing types in mechanical engineering and equipment construction. The plain bearing shell or bush is firmly integrated into the design, while only the shaft or axle rotates within the bearing. Maintenance-free plain bearings are often used, which are nevertheless cheaper than a bearing with rolling elements and yet require less maintenance.

Plain bearings are suitable for very low speeds, sliding movements and rotary movements. Plain bearings are easy to install and have a greater load capacity in the event of impacts than a roller bearing due to the larger contact surface. Particularly if you have the problem with a roller bearing that the lubricating film rubs due to too little rotary movement or no full rotary movement, you could consider the possible use of a plain bearing.
