PMI ball screws

High reliability
As a PMI authorized dealer, you can count on our highly reliable products. PMI has many years of experience in production and manages the entire manufacturing process from order placement to design, material preparation, machining, heat treatment, grinding, assembly, inspection, packaging and delivery. This systematic approach guarantees the reliability of PMI ball screws.

High precision
PMI ball screws are machined, ground, assembled and quality tested under constant temperature control
(20°C) to ensure maximum precision. Ground ball screws with accuracy class C5 or higher are supplied with a test certificate.

Long service life
PMI ball screws are made of alloy steels that undergo a high-quality heat treatment to ensure good rigidity. The appropriate surface hardening ensures a long service life.

High performance
The balls rotate inside the ball screw nut, which ensures high performance. Compared to conventional trapezoidal screws, where the nut and screw work by sliding friction, ball screws require only
1/3 of the drive torque. They allow easy conversion from linear motion to rotary motion.

No backlash and high rigidity
PMI ball screws use the Gothic profile to ensure the best contact between the balls and the grooves. By applying a suitable preload to the ball screw to eliminate backlash between the ball screw nut and the screw and reduce elastic deformation, the ball screw achieves significantly improved rigidity and accuracy.

High guiding accuracy
PMI offers precision ball screws that are controlled according to JIS B
1192 to ensure high guiding accuracy.

As a PMI authorized dealer, you can rely on our products, which meet the highest accuracy standards.

PMI linear guides

Precise positioning and high repeat accuracy
The PMI linear guide is characterized by precise positioning and high repeat accuracy. Thanks to the rolling bearing principle with a low coefficient of friction, the difference between dynamic and static friction is very small. As a result, there is no stick-slip effect, even with sub-micron feed rates.

Low frictional resistance, long-lasting precision
The frictional resistance of a linear guide is only
1/20 to 1/40 compared to a sliding guide. With a PMI linear guide, efficient lubrication can easily be achieved by supplying lubricant via the grease nipples on the carriage or by using a central oil pumping system. This reduces frictional resistance and ensures a long service life.

High rigidity in a four-45°design
The geometric arrangement in the
45°design is optimally constructed to bear the load in all four directions, radial, reverse radial and two lateral directions. The rigidity of the linear guide can be achieved simply by preloading the carriages and increasing the number of carriages.

Suitable for high-speed operation
Due to the low frictional resistance, the required drive force is much lower than in other systems, resulting in low energy consumption. In addition, the temperature rise remains low even at high speeds.

Easy installation and interchangeability
Compared to the time-consuming scraping process of conventional sliding guides, the roller bearing linear guide offers high precision, even if the mounting surface is machined by milling or grinding. The interchangeability of the linear guide makes installation and future maintenance considerably easier.

As an authorized PMI dealer, we are happy to assist you with the selection and installation.

PMI Actuators

PMI actuators

Features of the actuator
The KM series consists of a linear guide and ball screw unit and a U-guide rail. To save space, PMI combines the carriage of the linear guide and the nut of the ball screw into an integral carriage-nut system. The carriage-nut unit moves in the U-rail, which is designed for high rigidity to achieve high rigidity and high accuracy in a minimum of space. This combination significantly reduces installation and construction times. In addition, the design with two rows of Gothic arch grooves and a contact angle of 45°is capable of bearing high loads from four directions.

Structure
Uniform load in four directions

The KM series uses two rows of Gothic arch grooves and is designed to have a contact angle of 45°, allowing it to carry a uniform load in radial, reverse radial and lateral directions to suit any mounting orientation.

Space-saving
By combining the carriage of the linear guide and the nut of the ball screw drive to form a carriage-nut unit, the KM series can make optimum use of space.

High rigidity
Based on an optimal FEM analysis for the shape of the U-rail, it has a balanced ratio between low weight and high rigidity.

High accuracy
The design with two rows of Gothic arch grooves enables a stable, rigid structure and thus minimizes the bending resulting from the load. This enables precise and low-friction movement.

Load capacity and permissible torque
The KM series has a linear guide system with a high load-bearing capacity and can withstand high torques on the ball screw.

As an authorized PMI dealer, we will be happy to help you find the right solution for your requirements.

PMI Slotted shaft guides

PMI Slotted shaft guide

Design principle
The splined shaft guide has three rows of grooves on the outer diameter of the shaft. The Gothic arc groove design ensures that three grooves can simultaneously absorb torque in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, which increases service life and rigidity. The ball grip of the ball retainer prevents the balls from falling out of the grooved shaft nut during assembly.

Features:

High load capacity
Each groove of the shaft is precision ground, the contact angle is 30°. This ensures a high load-bearing capacity in both the radial and rotational directions.

No angular play
A preload in the ball contact prevents angular play in the direction of rotation and increases rigidity.

High rigidity
Due to the large contact angle, a suitable preload can be achieved. This results in high rigidity and high torque absorption.

Ball retainer type
The locknut has a ball retainer to prevent the balls from falling out of the nut during assembly.

Applications
Robots, transport devices, wire winders, ACT (automatic tool changer), etc.

As an authorized PMI dealer, we are happy to support you in selecting the best solution for your requirements.

PMI precision rotary grooved shaft guide

PMI precision ball screw drive splined shaft guide

Design principle

The precision ball screw - grooved shaft combines ball screw and grooved shaft guidance on a single shaft. The nuts of the precision ball screw spline shaft each have a specially designed rotary support bearing that is attached directly to the outer ring of the nut. The precision ball screw spline shaft can perform three modes of motion (rotary, linear and spiral) with a single shaft by rotating or stopping the nuts.

Features:

High positioning accuracy
The profiling of the ball spline groove is designed as a Gothic arch profile. Pretensioning eliminates play in the direction of rotation and therefore achieves greater positioning accuracy.

Lightweight and compact
The grooved shaft nut and the support bearing are integrated into one unit and designed to optimize weight. This results in a high-precision and compact design.

Simple installation
The ball return in the ball holder prevents the balls from falling out during installation.

Support bearing
The support bearing of the ball screw drive is designed with a contact angle of 45°, which results in greater axial rigidity. The support bearing of the splined shaft nut also has a contact angle of 45°, which results in an even distribution of force in the axial and radial direction.

Smooth movement and low noise levels
As the ball screw drive uses an end cap ball return, smooth movement with low noise levels can be achieved.

Applications

SCARA robots, assembly robots, automatic loaders and processing centers with ATC equipment.

PMI cross roller bearing

PMI crossed roller bearings - precision in all areas

Properties of crossed roller bearings
PMI manufactures a variety of crossed roller bearings that can simultaneously support radial, axial and moment loads. These compact bearings have rollers that cross at right angles between the inner and outer rings. This design can reduce the necessary installation height of the bearing, which would otherwise be required, and achieve high rigidity and excellent load carrying capacity. Currently, there are standard type CRB, mounting hole type CRBF, robot installation type CRBR and customization type CRBX to choose from.

Applications of crossed roller bearings
They are suitable for supporting the rotating parts of machine tools, industrial robots, measuring instruments and IC production.

Features:

High accuracy
PMI offers precision crossed roller bearings in accuracy classes
P2, P4, P5, P6 and P0 to meet customers' requirements for precision equipment. The bearings tested by PMI are classified according to the accuracy of the ISO standard.

High rigidity, high load capacity
The rollers cross at right angles between the inner and outer rings, and the contact area of the roller and groove is larger compared to ball bearings. This contributes to miniaturization and an increase in load capacity and rigidity.

Space-saving
The combination of conventional ball bearings requires around 1.5 to 2 timesmore space than crossed roller bearings. This enables space savings and miniaturization.

Wide range of specifications
Bore diameters from 20 mm to 160 mm are available to choose from.

Cross roller bearing types

  • Standard type - CRBC/CRBB/CRBH: Depending on the application, you can select the type that matches the external or internal design to ensure high rotational accuracy.
  • Mounting hole type - CRBF/CRBE: Mounting holes for direct attachment to the inner and outer ring facilitate the production of smaller and lighter devices.
  • Robot installation type - CRBR: Suitable for Harmonic Drive CSG(CSF) series and multi-axis robots.
  • Hollow rotation type - CRBG: Easy installation, suitable for rotating positions with high precision and compact structure.
  • Adaptation type - CRBX: Reduces the space required by around 1.5 to 2 timescompared to the combination of angle bearings.
