Needle roller bearings contain many elongated rollers with a length of 3 - 10 timestheir diameter. The ratio of the bearing outer diameter to the bearing inner diameter is small and the bearings can support high radial loads. Different variants are available, many of which have no inner ring. These so-called drawn cup needle roller bearings have an outer ring made of sheet steel, or the solid versions have a solid outer ring. There are also so-called needle roller and cage assemblies completely without rings. Most bearings have cages made of sheet steel, but cageless versions are also available.
