Today we would like to introduce you to one of our customers who specializes in the manufacture of horizontal directional drilling equipment. These devices are used for laying natural gas and distribution networks as well as fiber optic cables and many other applications. - The customer's problem
There is a potential danger for the lubrication nipples, which are usually driven into the shaft side. During lubrication, there is a possibility that these nipples could be pushed out, which would cause the lubricant to leak out. As this area is not accessible and visible due to the closed housing, such a leakage could go unnoticed and lead to a failure of the bearing due to insufficient lubrication within a very short time.
- Solution approach
The technical challenge was to design the cam follower in such a way that the drive-in lubrication nipple could not be pushed out during lubrication due to mechanical stress. Thanks to precise planning and detailed analysis, a solution was found that guarantees maximum functionality and reliability. - Solution
An effective solution was found by replacing the impact lubrication nipple with a thread in the bolt. The grease nipple could now be securely screwed into place, ensuring smooth operation. - Customer benefit

The vibratory plate is an indispensable tool in the construction industry for effective soil compaction on medium-sized areas. Since the 1950s, it has established itself as standard equipment on many construction sites. There are both independently forward-running and reversing machines, which are used as required. Vibratory plates are usually hand-operated, while road rollers are used for larger areas. Vibratory rammers, also known as vibratory rammers, and vibratory screeds for compacting concrete are suitable for smaller areas.
The vibratory plate is a machine that is driven by one or more shafts with integrated imbalances. These generate both the movement and the compaction effect of the vibratory plate through centrifugal force. The centrifugal forces are significantly higher than the weight of the machine and lift it briefly a few millimeters off the ground with each rotation of the imbalances. This causes the plate to move forwards or backwards and compacts the material underneath it with high surface pressure due to the kinetic energy and centrifugal force built up.
